Early Racing Models by Bill McDonald!!!

Emanuel Zervackis' Modified Coupes

Note From Bill:
"The #1 and #300 are a couple of cars (37 Chevys, built by Mickey Lineberger) driven in the Richmond area by the "Flying Greek" Emanuel Zervackis. Zervackis also tried his hand at NASCAR racing, finishing eighth in points in 1960 and 3rd in 1961. "

#1 was built from AMT 1937 Stovebolt kit with racing wheels added.

#300 was from AMT 1937 Chevy 2-in-1 kit, again with liberal use of a dremel tool to get it to early days feel.

(Note from Mr N:
I got this nice intro from Bill, felt it was worth sharing. This guy's been around the sport a while! Thanks, Bill!)

"Bill McDonald of Inside Motorsports.net here. I thoroughly enjoyed the pictures on your website. I, too, have been a modeler since my youth, ...with the requisite time out for girls and college. I prefer the "dark side" as your contributers call it. My Dad used to own the old modified stockers in the fifties and early sixties, with his drivers racing against the likes of Ray Hendrick and Ted Hairfield. I grew up on the early NASCAR of Richard Petty, Fred Lorenzon and Fireball Roberts. I have been a racing reporter for the past 14 years doing NASCAR radio programming both local and syndicated."
