Nelson Stacy's 1962 Ford

Note From Bill:
"...the 1962 Ford campaigned by Nelson Stacy as a teammate to Fred Lorenzen at Holman Moody. Stacy won three times in the yellow 29, including the World 600 at Charlotte.

This car was made from an original 1962 annual kit picked up at a swap meet. It was cheap because the chrome had been sanded off. I figured that was perfect for this car, as by late 1962 Ford was doing everything they could think of (including removing the "stock" chrome) to get a little more speed from the "boxy" Galaxie."

Note from Mr N:
I got this nice intro from Bill, felt it was worth sharing. This guy's been around the sport a while! Thanks, Bill!)

"Bill McDonald of Inside Motorsports.net here. I thoroughly enjoyed the pictures on your website. I, too, have been a modeler since my youth, ...with the requisite time out for girls and college. I prefer the "dark side" as your contributers call it. My Dad used to own the old modified stockers in the fifties and early sixties, with his drivers racing against the likes of Ray Hendrick and Ted Hairfield. I grew up on the early NASCAR of Richard Petty, Fred Lorenzon and Fireball Roberts. I have been a racing reporter for the past 14 years doing NASCAR radio programming both local and syndicated."
