Kit decals were not good. I cut all the white portions out in favor of paint, and the dark blue portions had to be over-painted as the color wasn't right ...they were all in the purple color that outlines the number on the real car. The hood decal didn't want to stick to the silver paint, and required being over-lapped with another coat of clear decal sheet to snug it down.
Tamiya Brilliant Blue matched the light blue stripe perfectly, with Tamiya Pure White and Silver Leaf used on the rest of the body. Tamiya Blue bottle paint, thinned 50%, used for the dark blue sections.
Not a fun build, and I was glad to finish it. ..."
