Vintage NASCAR Models from Chuck Poi!!!

"REB" WICKERSHAM'S 1960 Olds

Note From Chuck:
"When I first saw the picture of this '60 Olds on page 135 of Greg Fielden's NASCAR CHRONICLE, I knew I had to add it to my collection. Charles "Reb" Wickersham was a part-time competitor who chose to go a different route when choosing a brand to race. Olds stopped supporting race teams after the '57 AMA ban, so there were very few parts left over to build up a competive car.

The model is an R&R Vacuum Craft resin copy of the Johan kit. I used Nostalgia Race Models resin Holman-Moody wheels & Firestone Darlington tires since all of the brands were using them by 1960 except Chevrolet. I scanned the sponsor decals from various sheets and reduced/enlarged them to proper size. All other markings were made using the word program on my computer. Everything was printed on an Epson printer using inkjet compatible decal paper.

If anyone else would like to build a more detailed version of this car, I would suggest using the Trumpeter '60 Pontiac kit as a base. Check with Les for decals as he showed me a trial set of decals for this car. I would have used them except my decals were already completed".
