"... Even though others tried to run the Mirada and walked away, Buddy stayed loyal to it and actually ran it more often from 1981-1985 than the Imperial. He notched up 15 or so top 10 wins with his Mirada’s on super-speedways, and short tracks. During 1981, Buddy used an all blue paint scheme. For 1982-1985 he used this blue/red color combination. His sponsorship alternated between local (to what ever track he was running at) Chrysler/Dodge dealerships and HILLS RACING and Reid’s Trailers. HILLS RACING seemed to sponsor Buddy often from 1978 till 1982. I used a 1983 Buick Regal body and chassis for this model. I scratch built the nose, and cut off the roof to lower it, and built new rear roof pillar’s (with the opera window) to give it the Mirada look. The decals are Fred Cady’s sheet from the mid-80’s I found on e-bay. While not an exact match for a Mirada it’s reasonably close!
