Short Track Models by Mark Seiler

Bob Senneker's 1957 Chevy

Comment from Mark:
" FINALLY some proof I can actually build car model! Lots of pain-in-the-neck body work on this one, mostly in trying to represent the factory stamping left exposed when the chrome trim is removed, like the rear roof pillars, around the rear window, and the taillight areas. Those are individual leafs on the rear springs, and the shackles are actually bolted to the chassis. No wonder it takes me forever to finish one of these things! That's why most modelers actually have MODELS on their shelves while I have 3,467 half-finished projects lying around! (lol) The one thing I don't like about that particular build (it's an oldie-but-goodie, finished in 2000) is that it's TOO pristine. Even if someone restored the full size car, I don't think it would be that spotless.

I finished it in 2000, and brought it to the Toledo NNL in '01. 'Was honored to have it included in Scale Auto's coverage of that event. The decals were produced by a gentleman named Larry Ferandez. He lived in upstate New York. He had placed a small add for custom made decals in the back pages of Scale Auto. I contacted him about doing a sheet for the Senneker car and was very pleased with the results. Unfortunately, by the time Mr. Procrastination here got around to contacting him about producing the markings for some other projects, his address and phone numbers were no longer valid, and I have no idea of his whereabouts to this day..."
