Denis Giroux' 1936 Chevy Modified

decals by BULLRING GRAPHIX!

Story from Rod:
"Promising Quebec driver Denis Giroux's career was cut short by a driving injury but he was a real up and comer in the early 1970s. He won a 200 at Stafford in this coupe. This kit is based on a the 34 Ford Slammer chassis with a 36 Chev body from Freds Resin Workshop. The wheels are also Fred's and the tires are from PPP.

Fred's body has had the rear windows enlarged and I added back some sheet metal rear of the tires with Evergreen to make it look more like the car.

I built a new cage out of Evergreen rod. The sheet metal at the back had me concerned but I started cutting and folding in cardboard and it didn't take long to get me something I liked with some Evergreen sheet using the cardboard as a template. I also added the distinctive front hoop again using Evergreen and made some matching side bars.

The chassis is painted Tamiya Italian Red and the interior and body are a light blue shade of Duplicolor that seemed to match the photos.
