Comment from Robert:
"This is the other Petty Chrysler Kit Car I finished building. As I noted in my other Petty Kit Car...this one is for myself. I wrote a lot below as I've been working on the car off and on for two years. I'm really proud of this car.
I tried to copy this car from the May 1975 Stock Car Racing Magazine article. I also purchased the model car book Mr. Coulter wrote...and copied some from the Kit Car he built. Richard "tested" this car for Chrysler as Petty Enterprises was to build them for the public. Richard raced this car with a 340 c.i. and I noticed in the magazine the "3" in the 340, was the Petty blue color. The hood decals are "home made".
This car also has oil line for the rear end cooler and the engine has been plumbed with dry sump lines as well as spark plug wires, distributor and coil. I also gave it a try,,,again and made the seat belts. One other note on this car...Richard raced this car at Dixie Speedway, in Georgia, qualified fourth. Finished second in his heat race and was running in the top five during the feature..when the trans gave out. "
